Step-by-Step Instructions found here:
Due Dates
CFAH Projects (NRS or REEport, depending on fund type):
- Generally, each project has a report due by March 1st*
- Progress report: within the first year of starting the project
- Final report: after the project is completed
- Why this process can cause confusion:
- Project periods and the federal fiscal year do not always align
- Federal fiscal year: Oct. 1 – Sept. 30 of the following year
- CFAH projects funding cycle: from project initiation to June 30th, with a year and a half or less to complete, dependent on funding allocations, and/or when the project is entered into the system. Some final funding projects are awarded just a few months before the project ends.
- Project periods and the federal fiscal year do not always align
Progress report requirements
- Projects that begin before March 1 (i.e. you enter your project Feb. 28) will be required to provide a progress report. Entering “nothing significant to report – project just started” is sufficient.
Final report requirements
- For projects ending June 30th, due date is before March 1st of the following year. However, we recommend completing this as soon as possible after the project ends.
* Depending on the timing of when the project is entered, some projects will only require one report. Your project in NRS will show which results are required. When in doubt, reach out to ORGE for assistance.
Extramural Competitive Projects (REEport):
- Due dates are determined by project initiation date – check your project status (progress or final report) tabs in REEport.
- System will send automatic reminders via email
- Typically, USDA will not release new funds until your reporting is caught up.
AES Faculty
- All AES faculty are required to have an active AES project on file at all times.
- AES reports are included in merit, appraisal, and promotion advancement actions.
- Reporting submission follow the same submission process as listed above.
Contact Megan Rott for AES advancement questions.
